Photo Editing?

At this point I can not afford to buy photoshop. I would really like to to learn some more on photo editing. Can anyone suggest a free sight? I know about Picnik and really like it but would like to go further. I can't figure out GIMP, does anyone know about PhotoFusion or is there something else you can suggest?

Picassa is a great program with lots of editing features.

http://getpaint.net/ I have heard of people using this one, but I am a photoshop girl all the way. I used corel for awhile because it came with my computer, but I hear this does the basic.
