Alot of you have posted on the thread i wrote about my children driving me crazy....Well i need to tell you a little story..

Today we were working out in the yard. Mom called and needed help. So we go. Dirty and all. Kids were tired after being at moms and we were all hot and really really cranky. As we were driving down the road my son was looking out the window and saw a little old lady ( no disrespect intended), She had a walker in one hand and a rake in the other...

My son (who has been driving me nuts) says mom we have to go back and help that lady. I was tired and cranky my self. But i turned that car around and we went to the lady and told her we would finish her yard and bag it up. FOR FREE. so she would know we were not taking advantage of her. She was so happy. Well we did that yard with great gusto... We racked and bagged and stacked and stored her tools.

AND WE DID IT WITH OUT ONE CROSS WORD.......

Now these are the children i know and love. :wav:

Ok i have to go now they are killing each other in the front room......

That's awesome. What a great kid to encourage service like that. Don't you just love those moments? esp. when they are few and far between.

I think if I were you, I would show him this post... or let him see it accidentally.
Sometimes kids live up to what you think of them. (Don't we all?)

Just when you've given up hope on surviving - they do the most amazingly sweet things, don't they?!? What great kids you have!

That is so cool that not only your son wanted to stop and help but that you had the patience to do so. Kudos to the whole lot of you. What an example you are to the rest of us. (At least to me.)

Belive me if I had my car full of hot, tired, whiny kids and I would have been more than tempted to make up an excuse not to stop. Perhaps if something like this happens to me I will remember this and have a little more patience. It amazes me sometimes the things our children can teach us if we are only willing to learn.

Oh, that is a GREAT story, thanks so much for sharing. Isn't it great when your kids do things like that?
