In the Summer edition of Today's Diet & Nutrition, there are 2 separate websites listed in different articles that look good. The first one is www.exerciseradio.com
The article says "...is an Internet radio station broadcasting fitness music on four channels: cardio, kickboxing, strength, and yoga. The music is categorized by beats per minute - important because they help you train at an optimal, consistent pace...the station offers free tips and video iPod workouts from leading experts and can be accessed through iTunes, RealPlayer, or WinAmp."

The second one is http://coolrunning.com
under the training tab to next page on the left under new runners there is a "couch to 5K" beginners running program as well as other programs for more experienced runners.

Also one plan that I am looking forward to is starting next week in the weekly health/fitness portion of the Tucson Citizen. They are starting a week by week training schedule for riding your road bike/training for El Tour de Tucson race in October. I ride 17+ miles/day 3-4 days per week on my road bike and am looking forward to these articles to maybe give me a change of pace with my regular route.

Thanks...and good for you for riding your bike so much. I rode my bike this morning to shake things up in my routine. It was fun.

Yeah! Let us know your progress! One thing that I have that helps with interval running is a dual mode countdown timer on my watch. Set one timer to go off in 1 min, the other to go off in 1.5 minutes etc. so it just beeps at you when you need to start running/walking. I love mine. When I have to keep looking at my watch I seem to get dizzy and thrown off pace. Of course you don't need a watch like this to run, but it's a fun toy!

We are off to the Aquathon! DH competes every Wednesday night in the Tucson City sponsored Aquathons where he swims 800 and runs 3mi. Tonight is the championship! The girls love to count laps for him and then we run behind him on the trail. It's tons of fun!

He came in 3rd in his age group (35-40). It was a compilation of times over the summer races. He got a nice embroidered towel with his name and place. He did great!

Wahoo! Congrats!
Thanks! I'll tell him.
He is registered along with a couple others from our running group to do a full length (olympic length? not an ironman) triathalon in October at Saguaro lake up by Phoenix. He is looking forward to that and the girls and I are looking forward to watching him and our friends!
