I THINK they are all green beans...the pole beans will grow really tall and the bush beans grow more "bushy".

Yep, they are green beans (not that I know a lot about gardening). I like the bush beans because they grow more bushy and don't require me to do anything. Pole beans will need something to grow up onto, as that's how they grow. I hope that makes sense because I can't think of the correct gardening terms off the top of my head.

Green beans come in two varieties, pole and bush. Pole beans used to be what everyone grew and canned, but with the industrial reveloution came bean picking equipment and thus the bush bean variety is what most canneries put in their cans.
I prefer the taste of pole beans because that is what I grew up with and my DH prefers bush beans because that is what he grew up with. You might plant both and see what you prefer. |

My favorite beans are purple queen bush beans. http://www.reimerseeds.com/purple-queen-bush-beans.aspx
They are a deep purple when they are growing on the bush, which makes them very easy to pick, because you can see them easier, but they turn green when you cook them. I like the flavor of them, and I like that they do not have the strings that many other green beans have. |

I prefer the bush variety- I think they produce more.
