Default Adoption Finalization

I was wondering if anyone knew if you had to finalize in your own county. We are trying to adopt again and would really love to finalize this year and be done. We live in Box Elder County and with our last adoption we had to wait an extra 2 weeks because they only do adoptions 2x a month and if your Monday falls on an holiday they just postpone. For that adoption it made no difference but with this one we would have to be placed with a baby by the end of May maybe the first week of June to make that happen this year. But if we could finalize in a differnt county in Ut it gives us a couple extra weeks. Any help would be appreciated.

You will have to finalize in the county where you file the petition and that has to be in the county that you live in. So yes it has to be that county. Do they have more than one court house by chance? They may be able to make an exception for you if you have a good enough reason

Also, if the six months is really close to the end of the year, the judge can, if you show good cause sign the final petition.

Thanks for the replies. I figured we had to use our own county. They just do things kinda dumb if you ask me. I know some courts do it any day of the week just here and there. Ours only does it twice a month and they postpone if that Monday would be a holiday. Hopefully we can just get a new addition in May and not have to worry about the holidays and pushing the finalization.
