Default Music Suggetions for Memorial Video Montage...

My dh's best friend passed away yesterday very unexpectedly. He was 31 and died of some sort of heart condition...still awaiting the official medical report. Anyways, dh & I are working on a video montage to be played at his memorial. We are having difficulty thinking of music to be played in the background. Any suggestions are appreciated...probably anything but country.

TIA

Here is a place that does this professionally. They have a huge library of suitable songs. Perhaps you will find a good idea there.

So sorry for your loss.
I have made a video tribute too, and I used a song by Josh Groban. The name escapes me right now, but I'll update when I remember the name. It's an awesome song.
There's also Bette Midler "Wind beneath my wings" and there's a different Josh Groban song, a newer one, it was one of the theme songs for the Olympics, can anyone think of the name of that song?
I'll go do a search......

OK, the name of the first Josh Groban song I mentioned is "To Where You Are."
And the name of the second Josh Groban song I mentioned is "You Raise me Up."
Both are awesome songs and perfect for the occasion.
HTH!

Nemo's hubby did the video montage music for the Thank You luncheon that Lori Hackings family did for all the searchers.
As well as others.
Maybe Nemo will chime in with some ideas.

Here is a good song, Eric Claptons "tears in heaven"..hubby used it for the Lori Hacking memorial video. He also did a memorial video once and used "leaving on a jetplane"...I know it sounds weird but it actually worked quite well. He says there is a really sad version on a soundtrack from a movie..I will try to update you tomorrow what soundtrack it was. he can't remember right now.

Default Just a quick update...

Thanks again for everyone's input on this and for the support. It has been a difficult week. My dh & I got the montage finished up very late last night. It is about 20 minutes long. It will be played at the open house on Saturday. We are using several different songs in the video and we ended up using some more upbeat & his favorite songs as well at the request of his wife.

Beautiful Day by U2 for his childhood photos
Right Now by Van Halen for high school pics
Get This Party Started by Pink for college years
I Could Not Ask For More by Edwin McCain for wedding/honeymoon pics
Clocks by ColdPlay
I'll Stand By You by The Pretenders
It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday by Boyz II Men

I really liked some of the suggestions, but again his wife wanted it more upbeat.
