Default What is the strongest drain cleaner?

Before I pay a plumber 75 bucks to clean our bathroom sink pipe, I'd like to try the uber-strong, uber-buff mother of all drain cleaners. Suggestions?

I'd go buy a $10 sink snake at the hardware store and do it myself. It's a one time investment that will save you that $75 cost several times over the years.

Yup. That. I had a plumber friend tell me that solves nearly all clogs and is something easy one could do for themselves.

If Your handy, you might also want to remove the S curve under the sink... That is where most clogs get stuck!

A few years ago, our landlord went to Ace Hardware and bought some powerful drain cleaner that declogged our pipes. I don't remember the name of the product; only accept that it worked very well.

I just had a tub drain cleaned by a professional. He also sold me an enzyme cleaner to do once per month. He told me that you should never use the chemical cleaners. They aren't good for your pipes, and can cause burns. I'd try the snake, clean out the s-pipe, or use some enzymes. It's not worth having a real plumbing disaster some day!
