I don't think this qualifies as cute, but my little boy is getting some speech therapy and she brings a variety of toys to play with. One of his favorites is a formula can that has a slit cut into the lid. He drops poker chips through the slit. Simple, inexpensive and he LOVES it. So you could make one of those just for fun.

My grandma had a bunch of cans that were the size of formula cans but I think they were all metal. Anyway, she covered them with cute contact paper (so all the words would be covered, and put noisy items inside -- bells, beans that would rattle, etc. In the case of formula cans, you could hot glue the lid back on (maybe spray paint it a fun color?), and then the babies have a can to roll on the floor.

Seems like they would make cute containers for art supplies - my girls have more markers, pencils, paint brushes, rulers, etc. You could decorate the outside with contact paper or scrapbook paper to make them cute.

We made banks out of them. Just like the poker chip idea. Just cover with cute scrapbook paper or contact paper. Wa la.

they are a fun way to give a gift. Just peal off the label, wrap some cute craft paper or wrapping paper around the outside, and put a bow on the top. We have filled them with candies for different holidays a given them to the neighbors.

You can always google formula can craft. I do that with any empty containers that think might have a second purpose. There are usually some blogs with great ideas!

Here's one http://www.kimchibulgogi.com/quick-c...repurpose-can/
