This is my favorite one so far

http://myworldsimplified.com/rubber-band-bracelet-loom/

the other ones are similar but use nails. I know the nails will go farther into the board but I think the pushpins will make the bracelet making easier. I might have to add some glue as well. I am going to check around and see if maybe I can find some push pins with longer points. I was also thinking of dowels but you really need a lip on the top like the nails or push pins

PRICE: Rainbow loom

at Michaels craft store The sign said $16.99 no further discounts or coupons on looms or elastics. Limit 24 looms per person.
The elastics are one color per pack and come 600 to a pack

PRICE: Elastics

Walmart had mixed packs or the elastics no looms just elastics hanging on clip strips down the toy isles, they where $1.97 for 300 elastics. They had

*brights
*pastels
*glitter
* I think there was one more but now I cant remember

PRICE: Elastics
The elastics at toys-r-us where $5.99 for 300 and come one color to the package. I did look at the loom or I tried to they had to boxes both where smashed, the boxes where also about 1/2 the size of the rainbow loom box.

So as of right now if I was going to buy a loom it would be the rainbow loom I think it is worth the $2.00 extra dollars

Oh and if anyone finds a good deal on a big pack of push pins please let me know I did not find anything really good tonight.

Also I was going to check sallys for elastics one blog said she just got hair elastics but I forgot to stop. If anyone knows the price on the actual colored elastics like the ones you put at the end of the tiny braides... not the no snag things but real rubber elastics.. please share

I found elastics at Partyland. They were around $1.20 for a pack of 300. They had plain colors, sparkly ones and glow in the dark ones.

You can make the basic band bracelet without a loom. The instructions were in the pack of elastics and it is very easy.

We do have a rainbow loom and my girls love it!

Ok my favorite site for tutorials (as of right now ) is loomlove.com
They do not make all the videos themselves, they are 2 girls that love to loom and got tired of using videos that produce flops. So they try the videos and then post only the ones that actually work and are easy for them to follow. They also list the difficulty level and how many elastics it will take to make the project. The site is clean and organized so easy to find just what you need. When I get a list of non video tutorials I will post them. I have found a couple. I want to get together enough to give her a little book of them so she can have something to take with her when there is not a computer around... also I am one of those mean moms who never lets there kids on the computer I make them go outside instead (as said my my kids )

If you have time on your side, you can also consider checking CardCash.com for discounted gift cards to Michael's. They buy gift cards that people do not need, and guarantee the balance for 45 days from purchase. Sometimes they have a good supply, other times gift cards are out of stock or high dollar values. Michael's often has a 27% discount, and since it is just a form of payment, you can also use coupons on items that are eligible. Since the Rainbow Loom doesn't take coupons, a 27% discount isn't bad.

Walmart has the Bandaloom Looming Kit in their Black Friday ad. It will be offered from 6 to 7 pm. on Thanksgiving evening for $7. It includes:
1 bandaloom
1 mini-bandaloom
1 band hook
1,000 collection bands
40 clips
Clear carrying case

Here are some tutorials on Joann.com that don't require the loom, just a crochet hook.

Thank you so much for posting this. I googled this one and the construction looks a lot like the original and looks like it is built better than the other knock offs... I think I might actually like this one. It also comes with more elastics than any of the others and it comes with a carrying case who can not love a toy that stores itself. So I did some searching and this is where you can buy it now if you don't want to thanksgiving it.

Walmart.com free ship to store $9.98
amazon free shipping over $35.00 $9.99
bandalooms website free shipping $9.99

this is my top contender right now. I like the idea of the 7.00 but I have always worked black Friday not shopped it and the idea of Walmart during this kind of a sale scares me.
