Each state operates GED through its department of education, maintaining local GED test centers. These centers and only these centers are licensed for GED testing.

Fees for testing vary, ranging from free to low. Practice tests are available. Find a test center at literacydirectory.orgd

To prepare for test find the nearest adult learning center (which is free or has a very small cost), contact the National Center for Family Literacy at http://famlit.org/ or call 877 326-5481.

Your public television station may carry a TV instructional course titled, "GED connection, from PBS LiteracyLink, that prepares adult learners for the GED exam.
