Question Painting glazed ceramic?

Sorry I'm asking so many questions, but I'm trying to redo my kitchen/dining/family room on the cheap!

I have some decorative glazed ceramic that I like, but I'm changing my colors. Would enamel paint work over the glaze? This isn't for eating, just decoration.

I'd love any other ideas to reuse/repurpose/create decorative items because I'm trying to do this for very little $$$!

Enamel would work.

I would make it an opaque color that only needs one coat. Enamel, because it is not a glaze that is fired on at a high temperature, WILL chip (and my look like it is painted on and not glazed). But, as long at it is just decoration that is not getting a lot of use you should be fine.

Perhaps a clear coat over the top will help with the durability and the overall appearance too.
