Default where to re-string Christmas tree lights

So, I have this great pre-lit Christmas tree that we've had for about 8 years, but now some of the strands of lights have stopped working. I bought the tree at Michaels after Chrismas sale. Anyone know where I can get it restrung? Or do I just buy new lights and do it myself?

I know my mom looked into getting a tree restrung, Modern display would do it, but it was going to cost almost $300.
She decided to just do it herself.
