Default How do you cook your whole chicken????

I have a couple of recipes I use for whole chickens, and or course you can always just cook it to throw it into a casserole or something. But I am board of the same old same old, so does anyone have a good recipe for cooking a whole chicken????

Sit the preseasoned chicken on a can of pop - rootbeer or coke. (beer if you prefer)
Place that bird on a pan and cook it on the grill over medium flame for about 45 min to 1 hr.

The pop adds flavor and moisture to the bird, plus the steam cooks the bird faster. I preseason by sprinkling Lawry's salt under the skin and spreading around with my fingers.

Last night in the french cooking class I took we learned how to make Coq Au Vin. You just cut the bird up to make this dish. It was really yummy.

We also do the chicken on the can, he preferes the beer my husband says it is the moistest chicken he has ever had. I put seasonings in the can (garlic, onion, etc.). I also stick a potatoe or onion in the neck to keep it sealed and the steam in the chicken.

Sometimes with a whole chicken I salt it and then put it in the crockpot. Put about half a bottle of Coca cola in it. Then about a cup and a half of ketchup. Then you can also put some cut potatoes with it with onions. Its really good.

Or I cook it in the oven. I get mustard and melted butter mix it together, rub it all over the chicken. Then just kind of brown it some. We do that mixture also on Turkey.
