I LOVE Halloween. I love to make creepy treats. But I learned something as a cub scout leader – KISS… Keep it simple, stupid. Okay, I think they actually said, KISMIF… Keep it simple, make it fun. But the first one is just easier to remember.

These cupcakes are SO simple. Just combine your food coloring (they recommend drops of yellow and pink food coloring, and just a touch of green,) and frosting (they used butter cream) to get a lovely brain shade and pipe zigzags with a #10 or #12 round tip. And, if you hate cleaning up after piping frosting (who doesn’t, really?) here is the most amazing way of piping frosting I’ve ever seen. SO easy to do and very little cleanup. I’m a fan! I can’t wait to make some brains!
