Homemade Bath Bombs – Great Gift Idea

I LOVE these things. So easy and inexpensive to make and just one of these wrapped up pretty can make a lovely gift.
.
What you need:
.
1 1/4 C Baking Soda
1/2 C Citric Acid
Several drops of oil (massage or essential)
Spray bottle with water (or witch hazel – which is great for the skin)
.
1/4 C Lathanol Powder (OPTIONAL – get this from a bath or soap supply company – this will actually make foam/bubbles where otherwise you will just get a fizz)
1/2 C epsom salts (OPTIONAL)
a few drops of soap dye (OPTIONAL)
.
Mold:
.
You can purchase a round mold or use snap plastic Christmas ornaments or you can just press it into any mold you like or you can use a cookie scoop and press it really tightly into the scoop before placing scoops onto a dry surface.
.
What you do:
.
Combine dry ingredients with scented oil and mix well with fingers or whisk. How much you add depends on your smell preference. Add as much or as little as you like.
.
Spray a couple of mists of water onto your dry ingredients and mix. Continue doing this (carefully – you don’t want it to begin fizzing until bath time) until you can clump it in your hand and it holds together.
.
Use the mold of your choice. Make sure you mold it very tightly. After a couple of minute, tap the bath bombs out onto a dry surface and let them dry overnight before using.
