Just FYI, a warning: I went last night to my Albertsons (South Ogden, UT), and after buying all of my stuff – 4 Ragus, 2 Wishbone dressings, 1 HN Cheerios, 2 Vaselines, 6 Knorr sides, and 2 Mac. Grill entrees, total of $15.02 after five doublers – the catalina did not print. The manager came over and informed me that the reason was that the items from the bottom of the ad were NOT part of the promo – i.e., the Knorr sides and Mac. Grill entrees, and anything else that was not 3/$5, 2/$4, or 2/$5. They had to reverse my entire transaction to get me my $15.02 and my coupons back, and it was a huge hassle. The manager also informed me AND her cashier that they were not supposed to take more than 3 doublers, even though they were from different ads.

Spencer I bought those exact items in 3 different transactions yesterday and the Catalinas did print all 3 times. The manager was misinformed and needed to look at their UPC list because all of those products are on there. There could have been something wrong with the Cat machine. As far as the doublers some stores still will not let your use them from both ads and some stores will. The Ogden store on 20th and Harrison will, or so they told me this morning.

Spencer – tell the manager to get a copy of the ad that starts Wednesday. It's very obvious from that ad that these items are included in the promo. Sometimes it seems it's easier to say you bought the wrong items instead of trying to find out why the Catalina really didn't print. Sorry you have that problem

Thanks, Stephie and Deweyville. That is some very interesting information. I've just been to the two other Ogden-area Albertsons, and asked a bunch of questions. One store told me the bottom portion of the ad was not included (despite the 8/5 ad, which I see now), while the other told me it is. I was also told I could use double coupons from different ads. Unfortunately, neither of those stores had any Honey Nut Cheerios or Vaseline in stock, so I couldn't do it there. I guess my only choice is to go back to my South Ogden store and try again, or scrap the idea altogether. Frustrating!!
