How is your budget looking these days? Is it stretched thin? Have you been trying to figure out the best tips for making it stretch further? These are tough times, which means that many of us are worried about doing the same thing.
Our grocery budget specifically has been extremely strained lately, with the kids home so much and growing fast. That’s why I am focused on getting our meal budget under control. If you are wanting to do the same, check out these cheap dinner ideas that will help you stretch your budget.
Rice and beans are cheap, cheap, cheap! This can easily be an untruth if you are buying pre-made rice dinners, of course. What I am talking about is bagged rice and dry or even canned beans. You can make a delicious meal out of both and they can literally create a delicious meal for just a few cents per serving.
Breakfast for dinner can be super cheap! Specifically, a breakfast of eggs and oatmeal is super cheap! I buy bulk oatmeal for just $0.62 per pound, and eggs are always cheap. My family loves breakfast for dinner.
Sandwiches are a great dinner choice because they are super cheap and oh so quick! Literally, you can make sandwiches in minutes. Plenty of sandwich fillings can be really cheap. You can add a salad, cold veggies, crackers, or just about anything as a side.
You can make soup out of just about anything! It’s always easy to end up leftovers when you have soup too!
