While buying physical books is still common practice, eBooks are getting more and more popular as time goes on. So, with that being said, it’s no wonder that there is a lot of controversy over which one is actually the most affordable. eBooks are definitely priced lower than physical books for the most part but are you really getting the most bang for your buck? Are you really saving money? We’re going to answer both of those questions for you right now. For starters, we think eBooks are very cool and amazing. No wonder, huh?
Well, don’t skip too far ahead…
You see, even though we like eBooks, we don’t necessarily think people should give up on physical books just yet. Sure, you may find your favorite book for $5 cheaper as an eBook but is it really always worth the savings? First of all, you have to buy an eReader such as the Amazon Kindle or the B&N Nook. At the cheapest, you’re probably looking at $100. You also can’t user super cool bookmarks anymore since you are basically reading on a tablet.
Do you see the bookmark above? Yeah, that’s the one that you’ll never get to use again. Is that really worth saving $5 for just so you can walk around and read your favorite book on a tablet. Doesn’t sound too appealing anymore, does it? Also, think of all the energy and electricity that is used to send millions of eBooks everyday from one device to another. A physical book lasts forever (if you take care of it) and smells great. Yes, everyone loves it.
However…
We’re not biased at all. We understand that people will still want eReaders and would love to save some money. For those of you out there that fall into that category, we’re going to give you our personal 3 favorite eReaders (or devices that you can read eBooks on). What we mean by this is that you can read on more than just eReaders. For example, HP makes a tablet called the HP Slate 7 that is great for reading. It’s also only about $100 right now at Walmart. Pretty impressive, huh? We think so too! It’s actually a really great and fair price.
That doesn’t mean the HP Slate 7 is the best though. That bad boy that you see in the picture above is in our opinion. The Kindle used to be the king but we like B&N’s line of products the most right now. If you’re ever in the market for a quality eReader then this is the route that we think you should take. Not ready to spend a ton of money at the moment? That’s fine too. We’re all about saving money. Try eBay or Amazon to buy your new eReader. Yes, that’s right. You can buy a Nook on Amazon. Now, what are you waiting for? Go save yourself some money, enjoy your eBooks, and don’t be afraid to treat yourself to a physical book once in a while. It will most definitely keep you sane and not bored.
