Cooler weather is coming soon and at my house that means grabbing your favorite blanket to snuggle up with a good book or movie. Since everyone has their favorite blanket, and it’s never the one on top, the pile usually ends up looking like this

all. winter. long. ugh!
Plus, look at all the wasted space!
Today I took a little action to see if this winter could be different.
I purchased heavy duty hangers. I paid $1.37 for a package of 3 at Walmart. I meant to buy wooden hangers but they didn’t have any. These are extra thick and seem like they will hold up to even the heaviest blanket just fine.
Voila!

I’m lucky to have lots of closet space here. But even in my previous home, where I had far less closet space, this would have been a great solution. If I had thought of it then, I’d have actually taken the top (or bottom) two shelves out of our linen closet and installed a hanging rod in their place just for this purpose.
Now I’m considering hanging the extra bed sheets this way too. You could hang the matching pillowcases and top and bottom sheets all on one hanger.
I think I’m gonna like it!
