C is for Celebrate! It’s Cookie Monster’s Birthday – Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

It’s true, today is the one and only Cookie Monster’s Birthday. This fun fact brings back memories of sitting in my child size rocking chair watching Sesame Street. I loved it then and my children love it now.

Each year on November 2nd Cookie Monster celebrates his birthday. You may never guess by his appearance but this year he turns 42. When he first appeared on the popular television show back in 1969 along side Kermit the Frog the public was introduced to this crazed cookie eater who at the time was gobbling down letters. This furry blue monster is known to eat just about anything but when he first joined the show he didn’t have an official name. His name caught on later when Cookie Monster became famous for saying, “Me eat cookies!”

So take a minute and celebrate Cookie Monster’s birthday! Whip up a batch of this American Icon’s favorite cookie, grab a glass of milk and enjoy an episode of Sesame Street with your preschooler. Happy Birthday Cookie Monster!
