So, you want to get a good workout and don’t have money for a gym membership or heavy, expensive gym equipment. Well, you’re in luck as you probably already have what you need to get a good workout in your home right now as we speak. What are we talking about? Scroll down and check out the list below to find out. Not only will you learn some new ways of working out but you probably won’t even have to spend a dime to do it.
Towels
The first item that we have on our list is towels. Not only can you do classic pushups with the aid of towels but you can also get some dynamic resistance exercises in. Most people already have towels in your home and any towel will work for exercises like these. So, grab an old towel or two and look up some of the many amazing workouts you can.
Water
Next on the list is water. Not only can you get a good workout in with a case of bottled water (or a jug of water) but then you can drink it to re-hydrate. Try doing squats or lunges with a case of water on your shoulder or some hand cleans with a jug of water. The possibilities are endless and water is a great way to give yourself some added resistance.
Canned Food
Try putting some canned food in a pillow case and lug it around outside for a while. After a while, it’ll start to get heavy and can give you a great workout. Try slamming it into the grass in a sledgehammer motion and watch how it works your arms, shoulders, and even your obliques. It may look silly to your neighbors but who cares? It works very, very well!
Your Own Two Feet
Finally, this is something that we mention a lot but oh well! You can never walk too much (maybe you can) but the point is this. You can walk anytime, anywhere! So, why not do it? Get in some quality, low impact cardio by taking a quick stroll around the neighborhood to catch your breathe after an intense workout. Work walking into your daily routine and we promise that you’ll get a lot of benefits from it. Don’t believe us? Well, go try it today!
But these are just some of the many ways that you can get in a good workout at home without having to buy anything. Be creative! If you don’t have dumbbells, try using some coffee cans or bottles of soda. Use whatever you need to! See what’s laying around the house and think of ways to incorporate what you have into a good workout. Also, be sure to swing back by and let us know how it goes. We’d absolutely love to hear from you guys!
Losing weight is no easy task but if you put the right foods in your body, it’s a very easily obtainable goal. In fact, there are certain foods that you can eat which will help you lose weight just by eating those foods. If you’d like to learn what those foods are and need to lose a few extra pounds, scroll down and read about the foods listed below. We guarantee you that these foods will help you lose weight, feel better, look better, and best of all, they don’t cost a ton of money. Now, what are you waiting for? It’s time for us to start.
Sweet Potatoes
The first cheap food on our list that will help you lose weight is the sweet potato. Not only can you do a lot with these foods taste wise but they are also very filling. We’ve even heard rumors that your body expends more calories burning a sweet potato than is in the actual sweet potato. So, in theory, you could lose weight just by eating them and doing nothing else. So, the next time you’re in the grocery store, pick up a few and have them for lunch 3 or 4 days a week. They’ll work wonders for your body and you’ll lose weight.
Bananas
The next food on this list is the banana. These are packed with potassium which is good for you, they give you energy (it’s nature’s energy drink), and they are very filling. If you’re on the go and need a quick lunch or don’t have time to fix breakfast, have yourself a banana with a glass of iced water. Not only will they give you your sugar fix but they’ll keep you full until the next meal and they taste great. Not a fan of bananas? Try blending one or two bananas into a smoothie with a little bit of milk and some of your other favorite fruits.
Lean Meat
Yes, we know. This is a pretty broad category but we had to include it. The two big lean meats that we think you should incorporate into your diet to lose weight are chicken and turkey. Turkey is a little more in the pricey said but frozen chicken breasts (boneless) can be bought for pretty cheap. Prepare them in the oven with a little bit of lemon and pepper. It not only tastes great but it’s packed with protein and will help you lose weight.
And that’s it! As you may have noticed, we gave you lean meat, a fruit, and a vegetable. That’s really all you need! As long as you are drinking plenty of water and eating foods like this regularly, the fat will literally melt right off. Throw in 30 minutes of walking a day or some jumping jacks and you’ll lose even more weight. Just be sure that you don’t do too much or cut out food completely as that may help you lose weight but you’ll gain fat and it isn’t good for you. Now, what are you waiting for? Get to your local grocery store today!
Building a home gym is no easy task as it’s time consuming, takes a lot of money, and of course, a lot of space. Well, maybe we weren’t telling the whole truth there. It doesn’t always cost a ton of money but most people don’t play their cards right. You see, it can sometimes take someone years to build a good home gym because they’re always saving money to put towards it. We know a few places that you can find cheap gym equipment though and we’re not greedy so we’ll share them with you. Ready to get started? Good!
Garage Sales
The first place we recommend looking for cheap gym equipment is garage sales. Not only do people tend to sell their stuff for dirt cheap at garage sales (otherwise known as yard sales) but there are probably garage sales going on every weekend in your town. Pick up a copy of your local paper and see if any of the garage sale advertisements say anything about having gym equipment. Even if they just have jump ropes, it’s still progress, right?
Classifieds
The next place that we recommend looking for cheap gym equipment is in the classifieds. This could be anything from the classifieds section of your local paper to Craigslist. One thing we like about Craigslist though is the fact that you can literally search for what you need and odds are, you’ll find it. You may have to make a decent little drive to get to it (if you’re checking surrounding areas) but the money you save should make it well worth it.
eBay
Be careful with this one as the shipping charges may be ridiculous but then again, you could still come out on top especially if you prefer new equipment. Many retailers sell directly on eBay for much cheaper than it would be in the store because they don’t have to have their merchandise sitting on a shelf somewhere. And like Craigslist, you can do a direct search.
Ask A Friend
Finally, the last tip that we have for you is to ask a friend. No, really. You’d be surprised to know how many of your friends have an old heavy bag or weight bench laying around that they would love to get rid of. So, with that being said, don’t be afraid to ask all of your friends including those that you would never expect to have some used gym equipment.
And that’s all that you need to do! If you check these sources and use the tips that we just gave you, your dream gym should become a reality in no time. Best of all, you’re not going to have to spend an arm and a leg to make it happen. Now, what are you waiting for? It’s time to get started with this home gym project and quit delaying it. After all, the only way that it’s ever going to happen is if you make it. Good luck, enjoy, and have a good time!
