So, you have a baby on the way (or know someone else that does) and you’re worried about having enough baby supplies. Worry no longer! You see, we put together a small list of ways that you can get your baby supplies without spending your entire paycheck. Yes, this really is possible. While having a newborn child will always be expensive, we can help you put a dent in those expenses if you use some of the cool resources provided below. Now, are you ready to get started? If so, scroll down and check out the neat tips below!
Have A Baby Shower
First and foremost, we recommend having a baby shower. Sure, it’s pretty cliche and almost every mother to be has one but they do this for a reason. Why? They do it for all the free stuff! Don’t be scared to let people know what you need either. Ask them to bring stuff like formula, baby food, clothes, diapers, pacifiers, and stuff like that. While you may need a crib, you’ll find that you spend far more money on the items that we listed above.
Check With Churches
Most local churches have programs in place that help mothers who can’t afford to get all of the supplies that they need for their children. There is absolutely no shame in this unless you don’t need the supplies and you take them anyways. Find out what kind of different programs are available in your area and see what kind of supplies you can get your hands on. It’ll help you out tremendously and ensure that your baby has everything it needs.
Look For Sales
Every once in a blue moon, retail stores have sales on baby items. Keep your eyes open for these sales as you can save a ton of money. The only area that you’ll want to be cautious in is when it comes to baby food. If the food is on sale, make sure the expiration date hasn’t passed and if it’s close, keep that in mind when you buy it as you definitely don’t want to be giving your baby food that has expired. Other than that, you should be more than fine!
Use Social Media
Finally, we recommend using social media to find cheap baby supplies. Reach out to some of your friends on Facebook or whatever social media platform it is that you use. Find out if they have any old baby items that they’d like to get rid of and let them know that you’d be happy to take it off of their hands. If you get stuff like baby clothes and bottles, make sure you wash them before they get used. You can never be too safe with stuff like this.
Now, what are you waiting for? Get out there and save some money on your baby supplies. You’re going to need it in a few years when it’s time to buy your child a car, send them to college, and all of that good stuff. And be sure to share this list with any other mothers out there. We know that they’ll appreciate the massive savings that this list can bring to them.
