Today’s Argument: Clipping Coupons Takes Time.
My Opinion: Wow. This one actually seems a little absurd to me. Of course it takes time. Duh. I think the real argument the author is trying to make here is that the time it takes to clip coupons is not worth it. So I will restate her argument as: Clipping Coupons Takes More Time Than It’s Worth. She does actually say that your time might be better used “let[ting] yourself relax and not do[ing] anything for once.”
The amount of time a person spends couponing definitely varies. All I know is that I, personally, spend less than an hour a week and I save on average $100-$200/week. So for me it’s a no brainer.
I suppose you do have to weigh the amount of time and the amount you save I know the weeks I spend more time I save more money. I would guess that $150/hour is about what I “make” couponing. As much as I love relaxing and not doing anything – giving up an hour of that to make $150 seems worth it to me.
