9 out of 10 people love going to the movies or watching them at home. Okay, so we made those statistics up but we’re sure it isn’t far from the truth. Anyways, we thought it would be fun to give you aspiring filmmakers out there a list of movies that were made on a low budget that went on to become successful films. In other words, it is possible to make a movie on next to nothing and have it become the “next big thing.” So, if you’re ready to check out our list of movies made on a low budget, you can go ahead and scroll down now!
The Blair Witch Project
While no one can quite agree what the budget of this movie was, the most common figure that we’ve heard is around $60,000 which may sound like a lot of cash but in terms of movie money, it’s next to nothing. Either way, the movie went on to make millions and millions of dollars. To be exact, it made around 200 million dollars in theaters alone.
Star Wars
While Star Wars had a budget of over 10 million dollars (which was a lot of money back in the 1970s), it was hardly nothing for what the first film was able to do. Grossing close to 1 billion dollars, this film became its own brand and won the hearts of many. Over 30 years later, it still has a huge following and is on the “best movie of all time” lists of many folks.
Cabin Fever
While most people say that this film had a budget of over 1 million dollars, the actual film was made for much less than that. It later sold for millions of dollars at the Toronto film festival and went on to become the movie that made Eli Roth the director that he is to this very day. If you haven’t seen the film, it’s a really good horror flick that we loved.
Clerks
Clerks was a comedy film made in the early 90s by Kevin Smith who later went on to become somewhat of a pop culture icon. Made on a budget of around 28 grand, the movie went on to spawn a sequel and make over 3 million dollars in the box office. Aside from that, it more or less made the careers of many people including Jason “Jay” Mewes.
Hopefully you had fun checking this list. If you did, be sure to let us know and we may do more like it in the near future. Of course, there are tons of movies out there that were also made on low budgets but these are just the ones that came to mind. Now, what if you have never even heard of these movies? If that’s the case, we highly recommend checking them out and you can most likely find all of these for $10 or less each on DVD or Blu Ray.
If you’re anything like us, you absolutely love to read. There’s nothing like diving into a good book that is both well written and entertaining. It’s almost like an escape, right? Anyways, one thing that we don’t like about reading is the cost of books. They can be pretty dang expensive and if you’re an avid reader, those costs can add up fast. So, what can you do about it other than quit reading? We have an answer! Use the tips below to get your read on without spending a ton of money. Ready to get started? Good. Scroll down!
eBooks
eBooks are becoming an excitingly popular way to read books. You can read them on tablets, your computer, and on eReaders such as the B&N Nook. Regardless of how you read them, they are typically cheaper than buying the paperback or hard cover versions of your favorite books. In fact, a lot of online stores that specialize in selling eBooks have quite a few that are only 99 cents. On top of that, there are thousands of free eBooks out there.
Library
This may seem like a very old school method to a lot of you but we’re big fans of libraries. The books are free, the environment is soothing, and generally speaking, the staff is very helpful. You have to have a real love of books to work in a library so that’s why we will always recommend it as a good source of cheap reading. In fact, it’s free reading! That is, unless you lose a book in which case you’ll probably be charged a pretty penny for it.
Discover Local Writers
If you know of any local writers, approach them about their work. Chances are, they’d be more than willing to give you a free copy of their latest book in exchange for a little bit of feedback. Not only that but you will be supporting others in your area that have a passion for writing (much like you have a passion for reading). If you don’t know of any writers who are local to you, do a little bit of research and see what you can come up with. There are bound to be at least a few around you but you may just know about these writers yet.
And while these are just a few of the many cheap or free sources of books out there, we realize that there are many more. You have the option of going to used book stores, eBay, thrift stores, pawn shops, and anywhere else that may have books at great prices. Heck, you could even try looking around yard sales or just asking some of your reading buddies if you can borrow a book or two. Regardless of what you do, we genuinely hope that you save money and are still able to read as much as you’d like to. Now, let’s get to reading!

Finding a good deal on a computer isn’t always easy but we’ve just made it a tad bit easier. You see, we thought a great deal about what some of the best places to buy an affordable and reliable computer are. You may be surprised to learn what some of the answers that we came up with are but either way, we’re confident in our choices. So, with that being said, we hope that you’ll take the time to dig through this list and research our choices. If you do, you’ll have no trouble saving money on your dream computer. Now, what are you waiting for? It’s time to scroll down, check out our choices, and enjoy!
Tiger Direct
The first store on our list is Tiger Direct. They pretty much specialize in everything computer related and while their prices may not be the absolute cheapest on the web, we look at them as the authority in this niche. They have everything that you’ll ever need from computer parts and accessories to full blown systems built to take over the world. Okay, so maybe you can’t take over the world but with Tiger Direct, you’ll come close.
New Egg
This is one is barely second to Tiger Direct because in a way, they are pretty much the same store but with a different name. We like this both equally as much but we have more experience dealing with Tiger Direct and have known about them a lot longer. Either way, if you choose New Egg over Tiger Direct (or vice versa), you will not be disappointed.
Walmart
Here’s where that shocker comes in that we spoke of in the opening paragraph. Yes, we said it. Walmart is a great place to buy computers. As long as you stay away from those pesky e machines (if they still even make those), you’ll get a great deal on a computer over at Walmart. They sell most of the major brands and at some pretty darn good prices.
Directly
No, that’s not the name of a store. What we mean by “directly” is this. Try buying your next computer directly from the manufacturer. If you like Dell, head on over to their site and have your computer custom built. It’ll be more expensive than buying one that is pre- configured already but at least you’ll know exactly what is in it and why. In some cases, you can even save money if they allow you to pick what software you want on your computer.
So, to refresh your memory, the stores that we suggested were Tiger Direct, Walmart, New Egg, and the actual manufacturer of the brand you like. These are all great places to buy your next computer as you’ll save money, and you’ll get a good computer (if you know what to look for). If you don’t know what to look for, check out a post we did a while back on what brands are good. You can see that post by going here. Now, before you go, make sure you share this list with your friends and let them know about our site. Thanks!

While we don’t condone the use of tobacco, everyone is their own person and we realize that there are millions of people out there that love tobacco. So, with that being said, we put together a quick list of tips that will enable you to save money on tobacco. How? Well, in order to save money on your tobacco products, you just have to know what to do and where to look. So, if you’re ready to get started, go ahead and scroll down the page now!
Register On Their Site
The first tip that we have for you is to register on the site of whoever it is that makes your tobacco. If you’re a fan of Skoal, register on their site. If you smoke Marlboro brand, go to their site and register. More than likely, whatever brand that you use will be more than willing to send you out some coupons that you can use to save money on your tobacco products. They could be Buy 1, Get 1 free coupons or just 50 cents off coupons. Either way, they will save you money and you’ll be able to enjoy your tobacco products at a discount.
Go To Tobacco Stores
If you live in an area that’s not too small, you probably have at least one tobacco store. These stores only sell tobacco related products and because of that, can sell them at prices much cheaper than gas stations, retail stores, etc. Find out if you have a tobacco store in your area and consider stocking up there. If you do this, you’re bound to save some major money and besides that, a lot of people we know like the atmosphere of tobacco stores.
Decrease Your Intake
This is probably the least practical tip on the list and will definitely be the toughest one to pull off but we know that you can do it. If you smoke, try smoking 10 cigarettes a day instead of 20. If you use smokeless tobacco, try making a can or pouch last 2 days instead of 1. Little things like these will definitely save you some cash and the health benefits of limiting your tobacco intake have to be good as well. So, the next time you want to save a little bit of extra money on your tobacco products, just consider using much less of them.
And that’s really all that you have to do in order to save money on tobacco products. To recap, we suggest registering for coupons on the site of whichever brand that you use. It’ll only take a few minutes and you’ll get coupons for years to come. We also suggested cutting down on the use of tobacco products completely to save money. If you can’t do either of these for some reason, the last tip that we gave you was to shop at actual tobacco stores. So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to get to work and save money!
