Saving Money On Paper

note-paper

Before we get started, we want to say one thing. We’re very much guilty of what we’re about to accuse you of. Okay, so accuse probably isn’t the right word but let us continue. You see, every day, people tend to waste a ton of paper. Even we do it! We try not to but it’s just something that kind of happens. However, we’re making an active effort to cut down on the paper we waste and save a little bit of money at the same time. We’d like you to take part in that effort so we put together a little list of ways that you too can cut down on the amount of paper that you waste. Now, ready to find out how? Scroll down!

Recycle It

The first tip that we have for you is to simply recycle. Sure, it seems kind of obvious but it really does work wonders. Not only will you put some money in your pocket but you’ll also be helping the environment. Sure, it can be a real pain to recycle paper but you don’t even have to recycle all of your paper. Recycling some paper is better than none. Try saving all of your newspapers for a few months and recycle them. You’ll be surprised at the results.

Re-Use Paper

The next tip on our list is to simply use your paper more than once. Even if the sheets of paper in question have been drawn all over, they still have a purpose. Save a few sheets in case you ever need to ship something and you can use some old, balled up paper as packing material. Think of a creative way to decorate with your used paper or do something that no one else is doing. It may seem tough now but trust us. You are capable of most anything!

Buy Recycled Paper

Finally, the last tip that we have for you is this. Buy recycled paper! Not only does it tend to be cheaper but you’re basically helping the environment in more ways than you could ever imagine. Almost every office or retail store carries recycled paper. You may have to read the label closely to see what is recycled and what isn’t but we have noticed one thing. Most of them have a big green logo somewhere on the packaging that lets you know it is a recycled product. If you can spot those products and buy them, you’ll be good to go!

So, the next time you find yourself throwing away paper or spending endless amounts of money on it, refer back to this list. Share this with your friends and print the list out. Stick it on every wall you can find at every single store. You can never have too many people aware of saving money on paper. Just make sure you use recycled printing paper! If you don’t, then that will make everything we’ve just told you one big, walking contradiction.

Writing A Novel On A Budget

Novels

There are millions of people out there right now who dream of writing the next great American novel. You know, the likes of “To Kill A Mockingbird” or “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Next.” Sadly, most of them will never know that feeling but not because they didn’t have it in them to do it. It’s more because they never try. Why? Well, it could be because they don’t have the confidence to go for it, the time to try, or the money put to the side that will allow them to dedicate the time needed to write a novel. Fortunately, we have a few tips for you that won’t require you to quit your job to get your novel done.

Pick A Time

The first tip that we have for you is to pick a time. Yes, that’s right, pick a time. What we mean by this is that you should pick a time of the day to write and stick with that plan. It could be first thing in the morning (set your alarm for an earlier time if you need to) or once everyone else is already in bed. Heck, it could even be during your lunch break. The point though is that you should pick a time to write daily and stick with that game plan.

Make Goals

The second thing that you should do in order to complete your novel without dedicating all of your time to it and quitting your job is to make goals. Be reasonable with the goals that you make and don’t expect to pound out your first (and maybe only) novel in just a month. Give yourself a year and shoot for 500 to 1,000 words a day. If you do this, you should be able to have a completed novel (or rough draft) in just a year without quitting your job.

Share The Word

Finally, the last tip that we have for you is this. Share the word! Tell your friends that you are working on a novel as well as your family and significant other if you have one. You don’t have to show everyone your work in progress and we definitely advise against it but it doesn’t hurt to have some positive encouragement from the people around you. Not only will it motivate you to finish the novel but it’ll also give you something to be proud of. So, when you do finally start working on your masterpiece, make sure you tell people about it.

And if you do all of this in conjunction with one another, you should be able to write your very first novel without dedicating too much time to it or risking your job in order to get it done. So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to start working on the next great American novel. We know that you can do it and look forward to reading it. So, when you get famous for your contributions to literature, don’t forget about us! We’d love to read it!

Saving Money On Magazine Subscriptions

magazine

Let’s say that you’re a big magazine buff and you’re looking to get your hands on a few new subscriptions. Well, you’re in luck! Why? Because regardless of what types of magazines you are looking to get your hands on, we have a few tips for you that will help save you a little bit of money. If you are interested in finding out what they are, all that you have to do is scroll down and continue reading. We promise that this will definitely save you money! Now, what are you waiting for? Go ahead! We are ready to start.

Subscribe Within

The first tip that we have for you is to subscribe within. What we basically mean by this is that you should subscribe via one of those little post cards that you see in virtually every magazine on the planet. You’ll save a ton of money off of the cover price and on top of that, you will also probably get your first issue for free. If you ask us, that’s very cool!

Get A Free Trial

The next tip that we have for you is to get a free trial. This won’t save you much money but you’ll basically get the first issue for free so you have absolutely nothing to lose. Most magazines offer “Bill Me Later” in which they will send you the very first issue which is yours to keep along with a bill. If you like the magazine, you can send in your payment and your subscription will carry on. If you don’t like the magazine, you do not have to pay.

Bundle Up

A lot of magazines are circulated by the same company so you can save a ton of money if you bundle up your subscriptions. We don’t see this as much as we used to but we know that it is still a good way to save money. If you own your own business and need to fill up that waiting room with some magazines, this may be the cheapest way of doing it. After all, nobody wants to read old magazines that are out of date and useless. We sure don’t!

Subscribe Annually

Finally, the last tip that we have for you in regards to saving money on magazines is this. When you go to subscribe to a magazine, subscribe annually. Sure, you could go out and buy each issue individually (and pay three times as much) right off of the store shelves or you could subscribe per 6 months. Doing this though will cost you more money in the long run. So, when you see a magazine you want to subscribe to, set your terms for one full year.

And that’s all you have to do in order to save money on magazine subscriptions. Sure, it sounds very simple and you may not believe that it works but it does. So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to get out there, save some money on magazines, and have a good read. After all, there’s nothing like saving money on magazine subscriptions you love!
