So, you have a baby on the way (or know someone else that does) and you’re worried about having enough baby supplies. Worry no longer! You see, we put together a small list of ways that you can get your baby supplies without spending your entire paycheck. Yes, this really is possible. While having a newborn child will always be expensive, we can help you put a dent in those expenses if you use some of the cool resources provided below. Now, are you ready to get started? If so, scroll down and check out the neat tips below!
Have A Baby Shower
First and foremost, we recommend having a baby shower. Sure, it’s pretty cliche and almost every mother to be has one but they do this for a reason. Why? They do it for all the free stuff! Don’t be scared to let people know what you need either. Ask them to bring stuff like formula, baby food, clothes, diapers, pacifiers, and stuff like that. While you may need a crib, you’ll find that you spend far more money on the items that we listed above.
Check With Churches
Most local churches have programs in place that help mothers who can’t afford to get all of the supplies that they need for their children. There is absolutely no shame in this unless you don’t need the supplies and you take them anyways. Find out what kind of different programs are available in your area and see what kind of supplies you can get your hands on. It’ll help you out tremendously and ensure that your baby has everything it needs.
Look For Sales
Every once in a blue moon, retail stores have sales on baby items. Keep your eyes open for these sales as you can save a ton of money. The only area that you’ll want to be cautious in is when it comes to baby food. If the food is on sale, make sure the expiration date hasn’t passed and if it’s close, keep that in mind when you buy it as you definitely don’t want to be giving your baby food that has expired. Other than that, you should be more than fine!
Use Social Media
Finally, we recommend using social media to find cheap baby supplies. Reach out to some of your friends on Facebook or whatever social media platform it is that you use. Find out if they have any old baby items that they’d like to get rid of and let them know that you’d be happy to take it off of their hands. If you get stuff like baby clothes and bottles, make sure you wash them before they get used. You can never be too safe with stuff like this.
Now, what are you waiting for? Get out there and save some money on your baby supplies. You’re going to need it in a few years when it’s time to buy your child a car, send them to college, and all of that good stuff. And be sure to share this list with any other mothers out there. We know that they’ll appreciate the massive savings that this list can bring to them.
Eligible for free shipping on $35 orders or on ANY order with Amazon Prime.

Do you absolutely love celebrating birthdays? Well, so do we! In fact, we love celebrating birthdays so much that we decided to throw up a post on how you can celebrate birthdays on a budget. More specifically, we’re going to present you with a few affordable birthday present ideas because let’s face it, there are a lot of birthdays to pay for during the year and sometimes we run a little low on money. If you’re interested in this and want to know more, go ahead and scroll down. Some cool and affordable birthday present ideas await.
Make Something
The first affordable birthday present idea that we have for you is to make something. It could be a card, a lamp shade, or whatever you want it to be. It may cost you a few dollars for the supplies that you need but the birthday boy (or girl) is sure to love how much effort and time you put into their gift. After all, it’s the thought that counts and not the money.
Buy Something Used
The title says it all but we’re going to give you a specific example. Let’s say that the person in question is a college student that is living on their own. Why not buy them a used TV? How about a used couch? Play around with a few ideas and see what you come up with. If you know there is something that they need, they certainly won’t complain about whether or not the item was bought brand new. Just avoid buying stuff like used pillows.
Gift Card
The third idea that we have for you is a pretty common one. How about a gift card? You don’t have to spend $100 or even $50 on a gift card. You can swing by Subway and pick up a $10 gift card which anyone is sure to appreciate. After all, that’ll buy 2 foot long subs or 4 of the 6 inch subs. It doesn’t have to be Subway either as that was just a mere example.
Phone Call
Finally, the last tip we have for you is this. If you don’t have money for a gift and don’t feel like you can come up with the next best thing, give that person a call on their birthday. As mentioned above, it’s the thought that counts and we’re pretty sure they’ll appreciate the fact that you even remembered their birthday to begin with. So, pick up your phone and give them a call. If you’re feeling extra generous, you could sing to them.
And that’s how you celebrate someone’s birthday on a budget! Looks like we were right after all, huh? You can most definitely give someone a birthday gift without spending a ton of money. Now, do you want to get ready for next year? If so, go check out some of our money saving tips and ensure that next year you can buy them one sweet b-day gift!

Building a home gym is no easy task as it’s time consuming, takes a lot of money, and of course, a lot of space. Well, maybe we weren’t telling the whole truth there. It doesn’t always cost a ton of money but most people don’t play their cards right. You see, it can sometimes take someone years to build a good home gym because they’re always saving money to put towards it. We know a few places that you can find cheap gym equipment though and we’re not greedy so we’ll share them with you. Ready to get started? Good!
Garage Sales
The first place we recommend looking for cheap gym equipment is garage sales. Not only do people tend to sell their stuff for dirt cheap at garage sales (otherwise known as yard sales) but there are probably garage sales going on every weekend in your town. Pick up a copy of your local paper and see if any of the garage sale advertisements say anything about having gym equipment. Even if they just have jump ropes, it’s still progress, right?
Classifieds
The next place that we recommend looking for cheap gym equipment is in the classifieds. This could be anything from the classifieds section of your local paper to Craigslist. One thing we like about Craigslist though is the fact that you can literally search for what you need and odds are, you’ll find it. You may have to make a decent little drive to get to it (if you’re checking surrounding areas) but the money you save should make it well worth it.
eBay
Be careful with this one as the shipping charges may be ridiculous but then again, you could still come out on top especially if you prefer new equipment. Many retailers sell directly on eBay for much cheaper than it would be in the store because they don’t have to have their merchandise sitting on a shelf somewhere. And like Craigslist, you can do a direct search.
Ask A Friend
Finally, the last tip that we have for you is to ask a friend. No, really. You’d be surprised to know how many of your friends have an old heavy bag or weight bench laying around that they would love to get rid of. So, with that being said, don’t be afraid to ask all of your friends including those that you would never expect to have some used gym equipment.
And that’s all that you need to do! If you check these sources and use the tips that we just gave you, your dream gym should become a reality in no time. Best of all, you’re not going to have to spend an arm and a leg to make it happen. Now, what are you waiting for? It’s time to get started with this home gym project and quit delaying it. After all, the only way that it’s ever going to happen is if you make it. Good luck, enjoy, and have a good time!
