Don’t Wait Too Long…. Christmas *HOT* Toys 2010

It was Christmas 1982 and my youngest sister was 9-years-old. She wrote a letter to Santa asking for a cabbage patch doll. The only problem with her request is that about a million other little girls also wrote to Santa asking for cabbage patch dolls. Needless to say, the elves were overloaded and Santa was unable to deliver. My parents did the only thing they really could do. They bought a knock-off and forged the signature… As I type this I am unsure whether my sister knows of the forgery. I guess she does now.

I learned a lesson that year (well, other than the obvious lesson on forgery) about Christmas gifts. The Lesson: If your child wants something for Christmas and you want to give it to them for Christmas, waiting for a sale may not be your best option. Buying it before it quadruples on eBay may be the best buy after all. If you don't mind giving it to them for Easter, feel free to wait. Almost everything goes on sale eventually.

I pride myself in being the "cool aunt" (my own children are too old to care anymore – although they still have their Furbys) and so I seek out the *hot* toys every year. My secret – I buy them NOW. Yes, in September. Because I am a 6-year-old at heart, I am usually pretty good at predicting the sell-outs. I am happy to share some of my predictions with you.

Keep in mind that these are my opinions only and I could be wrong about what items will sell out and/or not go on sale. There is always a chance these will be Black Friday deals or something else. But as for me – I'd rather be safe than sorry! So, here are a couple of my predictions of *hot* toys for Christmas 2010 (please comment with your own predictions!):

My Pillow Pets Miss Lady Bug 18"
or any other Pillow Pet – there are dolphins, penguins, puppies & lots more!
In my opinion, these are the *hot* item of the year and will sell out all over.

Forever Collectibles Disney Princess 2 Princesses Logo Bandz
Don't know if these will sell out, but they sure are HOT!

Fisher-Price The Sing-A-Ma-Jigs
These come in different colors and
harmonize with each other if you have more than one!

Zhu Zhu Pets Hamster Babies
They're baaaack, but this time they're babies. Adorable!

Toy Story 12" Talking Buzz Lightyear
Obviously, Toy Story toys are going to be HOT this year.
This is my favorite Buzz. He has motion sensors and 65 sayings!
