Are you tired of spending money on cleaning?  No, I don’t mean cleaning services, I mean cleaning supplies.  I don’t know about you, but it seems like I am always spending money on cleaning supplies so that I can clean up after my family.  So frustrating. I mean, I know it needs to be done, but it sure seems like it could be cheaper. Actually, it can!

Here are some recent tips I have learned on how to save money on Household Cleaning Supplies:

• Skip the paper towels.  Seriously, a typical family can spend A LOT of money each year on paper towels.  Use old washcloths and towels instead.
• Use dish soap.  Dish soap is a great stainfighter for more than just dishes.  Use it on floor stains, clothing staines and more!
• Baking soda is great for scrubbing.  You probably have a box of baking soda around your kitchen somewhere.  You can use that for scrubbing up spills on your counter or stove. I love dual purpose purchases, don’t you?!
• Water does wonders.  You don’t need a cleaning agent and/or wipe for everything.  Sometimes all it takes is a wet washcloth. Try this first before breaking out the store bought cleaners and your cleaning supplies will last longer.
• Clean quickly.  If you dirty a pan, be sure and clean it right away.  This way you don’t get stuck on grease that requires more solutions to getting them clean. This is better in general so your house stays cleaner, but less cleaning products needed, means more money in your pocket.
