FREE Wet n’ Wild Cosmetics With New Coupon!
I love these Wet n’ Wild coupons, mostly because their products are so cheap!
This $1.00 off any ONE (1) wet n wild product printable coupon could get you some free cosmetics at a few different stores. Although it says “Available at Dollar General” on the coupon, it’s still a manufacturer coupon and is valid anywhere.
Dollar general does have a few different types of Wet n’ Wild cosmetic items, like nail polishes and eyeliners, that are just a buck, though. They also have the Wet n’ Wild Megalast nail polish, which I love, for $2, so I’ll be stocking up on those.
Walmart also sells a few Wet n’ Wild products for just under $1, so there’s a possible money maker with this coupon! You can also look in dollar stores, which often carry these items, as well as drugstores like CVS and Rite Aid. Look for the Silk Finish lipsticks and the Wild Shine nail polishes, which are usually $1 or under at most places.
Remember, you can usually get two prints of a particular coupon per computer. These Wet n’ Wild coupons sometimes go pretty quickly, though, so you might want to hurry and print a few!

Free Summer Activities – Check Your Community Calendar
The count down to summer has begun. My boys are diligently marking the days on the calendar, counting them down until they have the freedom summer will bring them. (Or so they think. 😉 ) Summer is drawing near and I find my self trying to plan activities to keep us busy and out of the house. Having made no real official summer vacation plans I’ve started to look for local activities to fill some of our summer break.
Soccer season has caused us to travel around the community. As we have been out and about lately I keep hearing and seeing advertisements for a variety of community events that we can explore and use to fill our lazy summer days. All of these flyers and posters prompted me to check out my local community calendar online. To my surprise almost every day was dotted with several community events. Seeing the event line up on our local community calendar encouraged me to check into further details. Each day on the community calendar is filled with a variety of events to participate in and even better, many of them are free.
It really is amazing the various free events in the community that are available to anyone that wants to participate. All summer long and almost everyday I can see events that would be entertaining and fun to participate in. Photography workshops with instructions on how to photograph wild flowers, canoeing in the wetlands, college sporting events, open mic night at the local art house and a variety musical performances are just a few of the activities that are scheduled in our community.
With the wide variety of events from the gardeners market to the opera house there is something for everyone in the community on the community calendar. So if your wondering what to do this summer, check your local community calendar. It’s best to start planning early, many events require registration even if they are free.

How Sweet It Is – Sugar Substitutes
I have a love affair with sugar, I’ll be the first to admit it. If you look deep in my pantry and cabinets you’ll find my secret stashes. Some of my favorite things like chocolate are loaded with it. Generally speaking, if it’s sweet it taste good to me.
Since the beginning of the year I have been trying to make healthier choices for myself and my family. This includes cutting back on the sugar. So now when I bake or cook, I’ve been looking for ways to cut back the sugar or substitute it in my recipes. I’ve been surprised at how many sugar substitutes there are an thought I would share them with you. You might be surprised at the options too.
Option 1: Saccharin – You’ve probably heard of saccharin. It’s artificial sweetener and has been around for awhile. It can taste pretty sweet. It may taste 200 – 700 times sweeter than sugar. It’s great for baking, cooking and sweeting drinks.
Option 2: Aspartame – This is another artificial sweetener it is often found in things like diet soda. On the sweet scale it ranges anywhere from 180 – 200 times sweeter than sugar. It is a good choice for sweeting and cooking but not the best option for baking because the sweet taste of it is destroyed when exposed to high temperatures for an extended period of time. There also have been many studies that say aspartame may be bad for you but the nutritionists I spoke with said there is not enough evidence to cut it completely out of your diet.
Option 3: Sucralose – Another artificial sweetener that is super sweet. On the sweet scale it is about 600 times sweeter than sugar. It is also said to be great for baking, cooking and sweetening.
The first three are artificial sweeteners and I am not a huge fan of consuming large quantities of artificial products but I think all things in moderation. Choose an option that works for you.
Then onto the natural options.
Option 4: Stevia – This low calorie natural sweetener is about 250 – 300 times sweeter than sugar so it’s pretty sweet. It’s a good option for baking, cooking and sweeting food and drinks. My son has found a soda made with Stevia that he really enjoys. You can find it on the health food isle at your local grocery store and it only has 5 carbs for the whole drink.
Option 5: Agave Nectar – This is also a natural sweetener that is just about the same as sugar. It’s a good choice for cooking and sweetening but it is a little tougher to bake with since it is a syrup like liquid and you need to follow the directions until you get used to the substitution measurements. Another benefit to agave nectar is it is low on the glycemic index, it’s really a good option if your watching your blood sugar.
