So, you’re wanting to know how you can enjoy music for cheap or free even. We have an answer! You see, we absolutely love music of all kinds and there isn’t a day that goes by in which we aren’t jamming out to something. So, with that being said, we’d like to share our sources with you so you can enjoy just as much music as we do without spending a ton of money on CDs and various subscriptions. Now, are you ready to find out how? Great!
YouTube
The first way that we typically enjoy free or cheap music is via YouTube. We simply go to the site and type in whatever song we are in the mood to listen to. For those of you that are kind of indecisive when it comes to choosing music, just follow the recommendations on the right hand side of the page once you pick your first song. It’ll more than likely match you up to other songs by that artist or music that would fall into the same category.
Pandora
No music based list is complete without mentioning Pandora. While they do have a subscription based service, you can get the free service on your phone or tablet. The only downside to that is, advertisements will play after every 5 songs or so. It really isn’t a big deal considering the fact that you can pretty much customize your own radio stations and listen to as much music as you want for free. We definitely recommend checking it out.
Radio
We’re not trying to be smart with you or anything but the radio in your car is still a good source of free music. Sure, there are a lot of advertisements and it’s hard to find stuff that isn’t the latest, greatest pop music but it is possible. This is especially true if you listen to music late at night. There will be less advertisements on the radio and better music. Now, if you’re into the new, hot music then you will absolutely love jamming to the car radio!
iTunes
While we generally consider iTunes to be expensive, it is still a great way to get good music. If you have an iPod and an extra $25, load it up with some music via iTunes. While there are other ways to put music on iPods other than with iTunes, we aren’t going to break any laws or help you do the same. Just add an iTunes gift card to your Christmas or birthday wish list and see what happens. If you don’t get one, use a different source.
So, what are you waiting for? A world of free and cheap music awaits you. All that you have to do is go out there and get it. We definitely couldn’t live without our music and don’t expect you to either. So, with that being said, it’s time to get started! Let us know how you do as we’d love to hear how well these sources worked out for. Now, enjoy!
Have you ever wanted to learn how to play guitar but didn’t quite know where to start? Wonder no longer as we’ve put together a list of the best beginner guitars on a budget. What that basically means is that we’ll be giving you our opinion of the best bang for your buck when it comes to buying guitars. We won’t be giving you any off-brand guitars that you’ve never heard of but we will tell you which big companies have affordable lines of guitar. Ready to get started? Go ahead and scroll down so you check out this cool list!
Schecter
The first guitar on our list is one that we have actual experience with. In the world of music, $400 isn’t a lot of money and that’s about what you’d spend on a Schecter guitar that is built well enough to last you a lifetime. The particular model that we’ve had some experience with is the Schecter Damien Flying V with Floyd Rose (you know, the whammy bar). If you want a solid guitar that doesn’t cost a fortune, Schecter may be the way to go.
Fender
Next on our list is the classic guitar that is Fender. They make telecasters, stratocasters, and more. Regardless of what kind of Fender you get, you’ll have a quality guitar to play on. Best of all, you can get a good Fender for as little as $200 in some stores which is a steal if you ask us. However, we’ve noticed that Fender guitars are limited on what styles of music they can handle but that’s nothing a new set of pickups and a pedal can’t change.
Dean
While most people know of Dean guitars because of Dimebag Darrell (yeah, the guy from Pantera), they are pretty popular in the guitar community. They also make some very nice and affordable acoustic guitars that should only run you anywhere from $300 to $400 in most cases. While they aren’t for everyone, we do recommend giving Dean guitars a fair try.
Ovation
Finally, the last guitar to make our list is Ovation. We like the Ovation Celebrity acoustic guitars as, to us, they sound like a Taylor or Martin. In other words, these guitars sound like they cost $2,000+ but they only cost around $500 at the very most. We’ve seen them for as cheap as $300 or so but expect to spend around $400-$450 on these guitars. One last note on Ovation guitars though. They come in some very amazing and eye catching color schemes!
So, that wraps up our list on the best affordable guitar brands for beginners. Even if you aren’t a beginner, this list will serve you well. We definitely don’t think that you’ll run into any problems with any of these brands but we do recommend checking out each brand if you have the time. Then, you can make an educated decision as to which guitar is best for you. Now, what are you waiting for? Let’s get out there and get a new, affordable guitar!
Like most human beings on the planet Earth, we enjoy music just as much as you do. It can either be relaxing, pump you up, or give you the urge to go run some laps. Regardless of what music does for you, we think that everyone should have access to whatever type of music it is that they listen to. That’s why we put together this list that will give you some pretty awesome sources of free music. Yes, you read that right. 100% free music! Now, let’s scroll down, take a look at what made the listen, and enjoy some free music together!
Playlist.com
Playlist.com used to be a lot different than it is now. In recent times, it has became a lot like Pandora radio but we like the feel of it a lot better. If you plan on listening to music on your phone then Pandora might be the best choice but if you’re at home, we hope that you will consider using Playlist.com instead. Now, are you ready to move down the list?
YouTube
Despite what anyone says, we still think that YouTube is a great resource when it comes to listening to free music. You can watch music videos, read lyrics, listen to cover songs, and of course, listen to the real deal. The only thing is, there isn’t a system yet where you can really build your own playlists and roll through your songs in an easy, effortless manner.
The Radio, Duh!
Okay, so we aren’t undermining your intelligence with this one but a lot of people seem to forget about the radio in this day and age of the Internet. Forget about burning discs or streaming music on a site for a while. Hop in your car (or use your home radio) and listen to some good tunes. The radio still might be the very best source of free music out there!
iHeart Radio
This app is available on many devices including video game consoles and it’s 100% free. We have to admit something though. We absolutely love this one and it could be due to the app name but who cares. It’s a good app that still has some kinks to work out but we think that it will be a major player somewhere down the road. Definitely check out this app!
Now, you know a few good free music sources so what are you waiting for? We invite you to get out there and try every one of these sources. See which one you like the most and share it with your friends. Not sure which one they will like? Then share this list instead! Almost everyone on the planet appreciates good music (especially if it’s free) so we’re very confident in saying that they will thank you for sharing this awesome resource with them. Don’t worry though! We’ll be back in the future with even more free music sources!
So, you like to record music? Maybe you mess around on the piano any time you get a few extra minutes. You may even just be planning on dabbling in music. Regardless of where you are in music, we have a few cool tips for you that you can use if you ever want to take a step forward, record your own music, and see how it sounds. Not only do we have some very general advice but we’re also going to give you some equipment recommendations as well and don’t worry. These recommendations are based on our own unique experiences!
Microphone
The first thing that we recommend getting (and it’s really the first thing that you’ll need) is a good microphone. Even if you don’t actually sing, a good microphone will come in handy for just about any instrument especially when it comes to recording. The best microphone that we’ve used as far as recording quality goes is the Samson Meteor and best of all, it is only selling right now for about $70 which is a really good price for a high quality mic.
Editing/Mixing Software
Once you do some recording, you need somewhere to put it. Well, we recommend trying out the latest version of Fruity Loops. There is a pretty intimidating learning curve for someone new but if you take a few tutorials and practice, you’ll be just fine. There used to be a few versions of this floating around for free but most of them (if not all of them) now are paid. Either way, this isn’t a terribly expensive piece of software and it works great!
Portable Keyboard
This one isn’t as necessary as the two listed above but if you truly want to expand and make some good music on a tight budget, a portable keyboard is a must. You can find for $100 or less and they work like a charm. They’re fun to play around with, they can put out some very cool sounds, and you just never know how well they’ll work with your music.
Be Careless
Finally, we’re going to leave you with one last piece of advice and it isn’t in regards to good equipment for music recording. We just ask that you get “careless” with your music. No, we don’t mean that we want you to stop caring about it. Just play around with it, don’t take it too serious, and focus on building up your studio. It takes time but even those on a very tight budget can have a nice setup and record some of the best music out there.
But we don’t think we have to motivate you. If you’re already reading this then you’re probably already passionate and dedicated to your music. We just wanted to let people know that regardless of your budget, there is good music recording equipment out there. The setup we just gave you won’t cost over $300 and you’ll have what you need for a long time. Now, let’s get out there, get that home music studio built, and record some music!
If you are in the market to buy an instrument, you can start here. We’re going to give you the total run down on what we think are 5 Affordable Instruments For Beginners. Best of all, each instrument on this list is also an instrument that won’t be hard to learn as long as you put in the hard work and take the time to actually learn how to play. Ready to get started?
Guitar
The first instrument on our list of affordable instruments for beginners is the guitar. You can find a guitar worthy of learning on for under $100 if you shop hard enough. Even top quality guitars will only run you around $300 to $400 so should you decide to move on up in the guitar ladder, it won’t cost you a ton of money. Now, ready to move on with the list?
Keyboard
The next instrument on our list of affordable instruments is the keyboard. These are a little more pricey than guitars once you really get into playing and make a long term investment into an instrument but to get started, you can get a keyboard for a fairly cheap price. Best of all, with a keyboard, there isn’t really any maintenance minus a few packs of batteries.
Harmonica
Okay, we get it. The harmonica seems like a pretty silly “first instrument” but it’s actually a fairly cool instrument that won’t cost you more than $30 at the most. You can also play virtually any kind of music on it so your options will never be limited with a harmonica.
Trombone
If you’re into big band music, the trombone may be a good instrument to play around with. It has a really unique sound, is easy to play, and can be found in almost any music store on the planet due to the fact of how many people in high school bands play the trombone. They usually only come in two colors, silver and gold, but are still cool instruments to play.
Drums
Finally, we come to the dreaded drums. They are one of the hardest instruments to listen to someone learn how to play but the good thing is, you don’t need actual drums. Have the person learning buy a set of good drum sticks (around $15) and practice on drum pads. If they get good enough or decide they want to pursue playing the drums, buy an actual set.
So, there you have it! This concludes our list of 5 Affordable Instruments For Beginners. Hopefully, you have a better idea as to what instrument we recommend and which one you would like to learn how to play. If you’re researching for someone else such as a child, be sure to run all their options by them. It’s important to let the person who will actually be doing the playing pick the instrument that they’d like to learn. After all, they’ll be the one playing it. Without further delay, it’s time to get out there and find the perfect medium!
