Today’s Argument: Shopping takes longer [if you coupon].
My Opinion: For a final argument this one is possibly the weakest.
This one is simply not true – at least not for me. I usually go coupon shopping one day a week and “other” shopping (when I purchase my produce, etc.) on different day. With my list and coupons in hand (and organized before I get into the store), my coupon shopping trips are the quickest. It wasn’t that way in the beginning, but now that I am a “pro” I am pretty speedy!
The author says that spending more time in the store could lead to more impulse shopping, “thus negating the savings.” Even if my coupon shopping trip did take longer, I would not impulse shop. Thanks to Pinching Your Pennies, couponing and self control, I am no longer an impulse shopper.
I haven’t found a reason against couponing that has changed my mind, but if you think you have one – please leave it in the comments.
